Scholarship International

The University of Liverpool is committed to the development of sporting excellence amongst its student body. The Sport Liverpool Scholarship Scheme is designed to help students combine excellence in academic study and sporting performance by offering the flexibility and support required to compete at the highest level.

Scholarships are available to student athletes who have already established themselves as a junior or senior national team representative in a BUCS sport, or those who clearly have the potential and commitment to do so in the immediate future.

The aims of the scheme are to:

• Recruit talented athletes to study at the University of Liverpool
• Improve the University of Liverpool’s British Universities and Colleges  Sports ranking
• Assist high performing students achieve their full potential
• Help raise the profile and reputation of the University in the sporting and academic arenas.

Sport Liverpool Scholarships Level     Scholarship Value Per Annum     Criteria
- Elite     Up to £2,000     You should be on a ‘World Class’ programme, have achieved senior national representative honours or have a senior national ranking in a BUCS sport.
- Talented     Up to £1,500     You should have achieved junior national representative honours or a junior national ranking in a BUCS sport.
- Development     Up to £1,000     You should be competing at the highest level of domestic competition (ie national or regional league) and be able to make a significant difference to the performance of a University of Liverpool team in BUCS competition.
